In today’s world, transparency is highly valued, especially in public projects that involve community participation. One way to ensure transparency and community involvement in such projects is through the use of public tasks on platforms like Let’s take a closer look at a real-life example of how this approach can be implemented.

Recently, a project received a $55k grant on and wanted to make the consumption of the grant visible to the community. They split their work into tasks on and funded each task with a part of the grant. For most of the tasks, they selected their own developers based on their project NFT tag and their wallet ID. However, for some tasks, they didn’t have the developer with the relevant skill profile, so they accepted community performers to take these tasks. They also created a few tasks for public funding via because they were extra ideas that didn’t fit into the original grant allocation.

As the project progressed and reached planned milestones, it drew attention from the community, and most of the tasks received extra funding. This gave the developers a nice tip, which further motivated them to work on the project. Additionally, the extra tasks were fully funded, which resulted in $27k of additional investment that was used for the benefit of the project.

This use case demonstrates how public tasks on platforms like can be used to promote transparency and community involvement in public projects. By breaking down work into specific tasks, the project can allocate resources more effectively and ensure that each task is completed by the most qualified individual. Furthermore, allowing the community to fund specific tasks not only provides additional resources for the project but also fosters a sense of ownership and engagement among community members.

Overall, using public tasks on can be an effective way to promote transparency and community involvement in public projects. It provides a way to break down complex work into manageable pieces and allocate resources effectively. Additionally, it allows for community participation in project funding, which can lead to increased engagement and investment in the project’s success.
